Toxicology

  • Acute Toxicity: Slightly toxic (EPA Category III). Oral LD₅₀ (rat): >10,000 mg/kg; Dermal LD₅₀ (rabbit): >2,000 mg/kg.

  • Carcinogenicity: Classified as Group C (Possible Human Carcinogen) by EPA based on animal studies.

  • Ecotoxicity: Highly toxic to fish (LC₅₀ rainbow trout: 0.099 mg/L) and aquatic invertebrates.

  • Environmental Fate: Soil half-life 45–60 days; binds strongly to soil particles (Koc = 8,000).

Applications

  • Primary Use: Pre-emergence herbicide for cotton, soybeans, and vegetables.
