Description:
Cartap is a systemic insecticide with stomach and contact action. Insects discontinue feeding, a
nd die of starvation.Colorless crystal with a faint odor and slightly hygroscopic and a melting poi
nt of 179 -181℃ (decomposed); vapor pressure is negligible; solubility of ~200g/L (25℃) in wate
r, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, and insoluble in acetone, ethyl ether, ethyl acetate, ch
loroform, benzene and hexane; stable in acidic media, but hydrolyzed in neutral and basic media.
Cartap hydrochloride is used, at c. 0.4-1.0 kg/ha, for control of chewing and sucking insects (pa
rticularly Lepidoptera and Coleoptera), at almost all stages of development, on many crops, inclu
ding rice (Chilo suppressalis, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus and rice-leaf
beetle), potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables (Agromyzidae, Leptinotarsa decemlineata and
